A Sunday treat. Not exactly classical music, but a really great video nonetheless. This person’s music handwriting is impressive…
Wassily Kandinski is a figure that shouldn’t be overlooked in music. His art was heavily influenced by his consideration and personal theories on music, evident in his claims that his art was similar to musical composition in that elements come together to form a whole work, and cannot subsist independently. Each component of his works was necessary for the whole to be complete, lines working with colors to give an effect, space interacting with shapes to form visual harmony, much in the same way tones connect to create chords and audible coloration. For some more investigation, Schoenberg’s relationship with Kandinsky is a worthy area of research.
