Something to think about when considering whether or not composers borrow from each other. It wouldn’t be surprising to find out that Stravinsky had heard Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker at some point before beginning work on Firebird. (The audio file is the end of Drosselmeyer’s entrance in the Nutcracker, followed by “The Infernal Dance of Kaschei’s Subjects” in Firebird.)
