I’ve never really understood exactly why Schubert’s setting of the Ave Maria text became so closely tied to Christmas, it’s not overtly Christmas themed, but I thought this might be a nice piece to tide over until the holidays settle down a bit and there is more time to post on here. Hopefully you all stick with me til then. There might be a few posts between here and January, but fewer, so enjoy your holidays, put down Bing Crosby and listen to something nontraditionally good every once in awhile!
